Currently, Oklahoma is one of only eight states that mandates automatic sprinkler systems in all new townhomes, a regulation that significantly raises construction costs—by approximately $10,000 per unit.
Eliminating the automatic sprinkler requirement for townhomes would remove a key regulatory barrier and unlock new housing opportunities across the state.
